It’s championship weekend and hopefully your fantasy football team wasn’t snake bitten by injury or ineffective play. While we still suggest (like just about all fantasy sites) that you stick with the players that have gotten you this far, it is still good to look at all your options.

Running Backs

Derrick Ward @ Broncos: For those of you that have Arian Foster, you will probably need to pickup Derrick Ward this week. Foster suffered an ankle injury late against the Titans and his status for week sixteen is up in the air. Ward didn’t produce much against the Titans, but he’s shown flashes of success throughout this season.

Bottom line is the Texans are facing the Broncos poor run defense and their offense has been great for fantasy production at the running back position. If Foster should miss the game, Ward is a serious option to consider for your championship game.

Donald Brown @ Raiders: The Colts have been waiting for former first round pick Donald Brown to flash his big play skills on the football field. Finally, Brown delivered a big game against the Jaguars, and he should gain more touches against the Raiders. If you need an option to help you out at the flex position, Brown is worth a roll of the dice.

Wide Receivers

Kenny Britt @ Chiefs: If, for some reason, Kenny Britt is on your waiver wire, get him on your team right away. Britt had a nice streak of games in the middle of the season before a hamstring injury sidelined him. Now, Britt has established himself again as he posted six catches for 128 yards and is clearly Kerry Collins favorite target.

Expect Britt to be productive against the Chiefs as their secondary has had problems with down the field threats like Britt in the second half of the season.

Josh Morgan @ Rams: Alex Smith has a new favorite target, and his name is Josh Morgan. Many fantasy owners held out hope for Morgan as he showed flashes of talent earlier in his career. Now in his third season, Morgan is proving to be a hot player for fantasy lineups as he posted over 100 yards receiving last week and over 80 yards and a touchdown the week before.

The 49ers are actually still in the hunt to win the division, and they’ve owned the Rams over the past four or five seasons. If Alex Smith starts in this game, look for Morgan to have a respectable game as defenses are paying more attention to Vernon Davis and Michael Crabtree.

Kicker

Josh Brown vs 49ers: If you haven’t paid much attention to Josh Brown as a kicking option, I can’t blame you. It’s not that Brown isn’t a talented kicker has he has a strong leg and is accurate, but his team hasn’t been the greatest in the past. Now the Rams are playing solid football, and Brown can be trusted weekly and will be a top ten fantasy kicker going into 2011.

Team Defense

Buccaneers vs Seahawks: The Seahawks may go without Matt Hasselbeck at quarterback because of his horrible performance against the Falcons. Look for the Buccaneers to post a respectable performance against a struggling team.
