Shortstops AL Only Projected Stats
It’s time to get ready for your AL only fantasy baseball draft and below you will find 2011 projected stats for a few shortstops we’ve selected. While we feel these are the top shortstops to go after at your draft, they certainly aren’t all the eligible options at this position.
This years’ class for AL only shortstops is a poor one as aging veteran Derek Jeter is still the best to draft and there isn’t anyone to take his place. Alexei Ramirez of the White Sox is one shortstop who could out produce him, but he will need to take another step in production.
Look to youngsters like Cliff Pennington of the A’s and Elvis Andrus of the Rangers as solid options to snag up stolen bases. While neither shortstop has solid power numbers they can give you steady help and that is what you will need if you don’t select Jeter.
Don’t forget about Jhonny Peralta as he has moved over to the Tigers and will be in a better lineup. Detroit should have something to play for as we head into September so look to Peralta as another steady option in this years AL only fantasy baseball class of shortstops.
