Third Baseman 2011 Projected Stats

The 2011 MLB fantasy baseball season is getting closer, and it time to start looking at projected stats for your favorite third baseman prospects. Below you will see that we have projected stats for mixed league third baseman in categories of at bats, home runs, runs batted in, runs scored, stolen bases and batting average.

One young player to take note of is Pirates standout Pedro Alvarez as he was called up last year and did a decent job in the pro’s. Alvarez was a former first round pick and if I’m not mistaken he was actually taken over Giants star catcher Buster Posey. Expect Alvarez to continue to grow in the pros as he has a nice stroke and should only continue to see his fantasy baseball ADP rise of the coming years.

Another interesting player to watch is Tampa Bay Rays star Evan Longoria as he is primed to unseat Alex Rodriguez as the top third baseman in rankings. Last year Longoria had a down season in home runs, but I expect him to bounce back close to 30 home runs this season. Maybe this isn’t the year Longoria becomes the true number one, but he should play more baseball games than A-Rod as the veteran has missed around 25 contests in each of past two or three seasons.
