2011 Running Back Free Agents

What a year it was for Texans running back Arian Foster as he was clearly the top runner in the NFL and the hands down MVP of fantasy football leagues. While Foster is technically a free agent this off-season the Texans have right to him as a Exclusive-Rights Free Agent (ERFA) because he’s only played in the league for two years.

That basically means that Foster can’t negotiate a contract with anyone other than the Texans and he is going to be back in Houston next year. Look for this stud to have another big year when the league gets going again, as Foster has the supporting cast around him to succeed.

Other notable running backs going into free agency are Joseph Addai, Cedric Benson, Ahmad Bradshaw, Pierre Thomas, Ronnie Brown, Jason Snelling and the biggest of all has to be DeAngelo Williams. It looks like the Panthers will probably move Williams this off-season and that means Jonathan Stewart will be the clear starter in Carolina.

We will keep you updated on player movement but that won’t come until the NFL finally ends the lockout that is about to take place.
