AL Only 8 Team Mock Draft
For as high as Evan Longoria is going in this season, I hope he hits more than the 22 home runs, he did in 2010. That should happen, but Longoria has noted that home runs aren’t a priority as he focuses more on driving in runs.
While I find his strategy to be a sound one for the long haul of his career, he needs to return to a strong power total to be selected over Alex Rodriguez in my book. Popular thinking in fantasy baseball is that A-Rod has lost his power production and won’t do much more than he has in the past three seasons.
That could be true, but I believe this season will be different for Rodriguez as he’s had a clean bill of health since November. This is the first offseason in awhile that Rodriguez has had the ability to focus on his regular routine and not rehabbing an injury.
Both third baseman went in the first round in this mock draft, and three Yankees went overall. No surprise as New York may still be the best offense in baseball, even though the Red Sox will have something to say about it.
