NL Only 8 Team Mock Draft
As my real NL only and mixed league drafts creep closers I have to admit that Carlos Gonzalez is moving up to the top of my list for outfielders. For most of the offseason I’ve recommended fantasy owners look to Ryan Braun as the top outfielder because of his unfaltering production of the past four seasons.
Cargo is a great talent, but because he’s only had one strong season, I wasn’t ready to give him the top billing at this position. Upon further review, I can’t help but believe in Cargo when I listen to him in interviews and watch his plate approach in spring games on MLB Network. This kid is no joke, and the Rockies were fortunate that he took reasonable money to stay in Colorado this offseason.
Cargo gives you the entire package and is just that much better than Braun in overall ability. In this mock draft Cargo was the third overall pick and his counterpart in crime Troy Tulowitzki was fourth overall. The Rockies clearly have the top combination in the West but to win this division, they’re pitching needs to play well.
We’ve seen the Giants handle lineups like the Phillies and Rangers with easy, and they always seem to give the Rockies fits in San Francisco. Still, for fantasy baseball, Cargo and Tulo should have great seasons.
Take a look at the results of this eight team mock draft below as done on Mock Draft Central. Since this is the middle of March, we are starting to get a better idea of where fantasy owners are looking to select players.
