Patriots Draft Picks
OT, OG, OLB, RB, CB, DE
17. New England Patriots Select: Nate Solder
The Patriots have a few picks to find some impact help but getting some youth at offensive line is good for Tom Brady. This is another solid pick for the Patriots but now I would like to see them add some pass rush.
Draft Grade: B
33. Cornerback – Ras-I Dowling
The Patriots continue to add secondary help to a young group that found success as the season moved along. Not a bad choice but I would still like to see them add some pass rush help.
56. Running Back Shane Vereen
Not in love with this pick but he will probably fit in well with the Patriots running game. Hopefully the Patriots can find some pass rush in free agency.
73. Running Back Stevan Ridley
Another running back? Not a horrible pick but I’m disappointed that they’ve failed to address the pass rush in this draft.
74. Quarterback Ryan Mallett
Maybe Ryan will be a decent backup for the Patriots but this pick won’t help them win a Super Bowl.
138. Offensive Lineman Marcus Cannon
159. Tight End Lee Smith
194. Linebacker Markell Carter
219. Defensive Back Malcolm Williams
