49ers Draft Needs
CB, OLB, DT, S, DE
1 round, 7th pick: San Francisco 49ers Select: DE Aldon Smith
The 49ers missed out on Patrick Peterson so getting someone to help out in the pass rush was a must. This team needs to put pressure on the quarterback and Aldon Smith, is hopefully a good step in the right direction.
Overall Draft Grade: B-
36. (Trade with Broncos) Quarterback Colin Kaepernick
Well the 49ers needed a quarterback and Colin Kaepernick is the man for the 49ers after the Bengals drafted Andy Dalton. I like the fact that Kapernick can use his legs and has a good arm, but it will take a couple years to develop him. The 49ers need to get Alex Smith back (as much as local fans won’t want to hear that) to run this team in 2011.
80. Cornerback Chris Culliver
This one looks like a stretch but the 49ers at least got themselves a body for the secondary. This team will probably struggle against the pass once again.
115. Running Back Kendall Hunter
163. Offensive Lineman Daniel Kilgore
182. Wide Receiver Ronald Johnson
190. Defensive Back Colin Jones
211. Defensive Lineman Bruce Miller
239. Offensive Lineman Michael Person
250. Defensive Back Curtis Holcomb
