Week 9: Two Start Pitchers
The Red Sox have been on fire in May as they look to keep things going against the White Sox and A’s heading into June. Staff ace Jon Lester will toe the mound against both opponents, as he is looking for his eight and ninth wins on the season. Lester has pitched well thus far, but he’s yet to perform up to the projected CY Young numbers many had him at during spring training. While Lester needs to improve on his ERA and WHIP, he is still a great pitcher, and a hands down starter, weekly for fantasy baseball owners.
Another projected two start veteran this week is Braves Tim Hudson as he looks ready to return from a recent injury that played a role in him giving up eight earned runs in his last start. Hudson will get the Padres early in the week and follow that with an outing on the road against the Mets.
If Hudson is back to the pitcher we watched, previous to his setback, he should dominate against the Padres weak lineup. Look to Hudson as a must start this week as his matchups are too good to be ignored but the average fantasy owner.
