Kickers: Projected Stats
CLICK HERE FOR OUR CURRENT FANTASY DRAFT INFORMATION
Coming into the past few seasons I’ve ranked Titans Rob Bironas as the top kicker to draft because he was on a team that gave him consistent opportunities, and he could deliver from long distances with regularity. For as much talent as Bironas has, the Titans are clearly in flux and even the best kickers need stability to be a useful starting option for fantasy football.
While I don’t find Bironas to be a worthy starter this season, a couple other strong legged kickers finally saw their values rise to top five levels as the Rams and Raiders became respectable teams, once again. That’s great news for Josh Brown and Sebastian Janikowski heading into 2011, as both place kickers are terrific from long range and are worthy of considering as two of the top options to select at this position.
Speaking of value change, long time Eagles’ place kicker David Akers will be a free agent this summer as Philadelphia will go with rookie Alex Henery as the teams future for the next ten to fifteen years. Henery has an excellent leg as he can strike with accuracy from well over 50 yards out. Look for Henery as a top ten option in his rookie year, as this place kicker finished his college career as the most accurate kicker in NCAA history.
Below you will notice our projected stats for kickers for the 2011 fantasy football season. Our process of ranking our projected stats is based on multiple factors and some of them are the kickers’ upside, risk, weather factors, strength of schedule, effectiveness of their offense, skill players around them.
