Team Defenses: Projected Stats
CLICK HERE FOR OUR CURRENT FANTASY DRAFT INFORMATION
When looking for a reliable fantasy defense, you want to find a group that holds opponents under twenty points a game, sacks the quarterback, and can create turnovers. While top defenses like the Steelers, Giants, Eagles, Ravens and Patriots all have quality players on defense, but only the Packers and Jets support shut down corners on the outside. Maybe that’s why the sweepstakes for free agent to be Nnamdi Asomugha is going to be competitive because it’s rare that you find a corner of that caliber on the open market.
I expect the Jets to have a stronger stat line this season as Darrelle Revis will be with the team throughout the preseason as he’s not looking for a new contract, that spurred on his hamstring problems to start last season.
The advantage the Jets and Packers can provide you with is that they have the ability to slow down even the best receivers in the game and especially against the big play. Just look at the 49ers last season as they have a top ten group for fantasy on the front line and in the linebacker core but their secondary gave up huge plays (and their offense sucked) which made them an unreliable option for most of the season.
Below you will notice our projected stats for team defenses for the 2011 fantasy football season. Our process of ranking our projected stats is based on multiple factors and some of them are the teams’ upside, risk, weather factors, strength of schedule, style of defense, effectiveness of their offense, skill players and projected quality of depth on the roster.
