Two Start Pitchers – Week 13
Cliff Lee was one of the top five pitchers selected in just about every fantasy baseball draft this spring, and of late he’s pitching like he wants to rival Roy Halladay for the National League CY Young Award. Lee has won his last four decisions and has thrown complete game shutouts in his past two outings. This week will be a great test for the All Star pitcher as he will face off against the Blue Jays and Red Sox in inter-league play.
Fellow National League East pitcher Brandon Beachy returned from an injury last week and in his first game back he returned to the breakout rookie we saw in the first month of the season, striking out eleven batters, while picking up the victory against the Blue Jays. This week Beachy will double up against the Mariners and Orioles, so lets hope, he continues his strong return, as his presence in fantasy rosters could be key in the second half of the season.
For AL-Only leagues, Josh Beckett, Gio Gonzalez and C.J. Wilson are the headline names in our week thirteen pitchers. Of the three Wilson may have the best opportunity for dominance as he faces the Astros and Marlins.
