Dynasty Tier Cheatsheet
With Chris Johnson’s continued holdout for a new contract, I’m sure many of you are concerned about his prospects to play most of this season. While Johnson will likely miss time into the season, I still recommend you look to him as one of the top six running backs to own in keeper / dynasty leagues.
Sure, in the short run that might mean you have to pick up an extra mid round running back to use in your lineup, but not many running backs can give you the production Johnson can, and stay healthy throughout a season, to provide solid numbers weekly.
While Johnson is steering down the Titans for a new contract, the man listed on top of our tier cheat sheet for running backs is looking for a big deal as well. Arian Foster is grossly underpaid but another big year, and he will be worthy of landing a huge contract.
If he should have another big season, Foster could be in the same situation Johnson’s in this summer, as Johnson and Adrian Peterson (up for a contract next year) are looking to be paid as not just the top running backs, but top players in the game. Just remember that a young running back with the talent that these players have, is worth holding on your team, even if they have a temporary time out of the league because of contract issues.
Below you will notice that I have each player position tiered in a color scheme to break down the various tiers as I see them from a dynasty league perspective. While some of the names may not justify their ranking, this year, as will likely be the case for Mark Ingram, I tend to tier my dynasty rankings for where I see the value, not just this year, but for the long term.
