Tony Romo Plays Through Punctured Lunge | FF Brainwave Report
Romo Played Through Punctured Lunge, Questionable Next Week
ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reports that Tony Romo played through a punctured lunge while leading the Cowboys back to an overtime win against the 49ers.
Fantasy Outlook: It looks like Romo will be listed as questionable for the teams Monday night game against the Redskins, but fantasy owners should count on him playing. The bigger problem for Romo is that Miles Austin is likely out for the next month with a hamstring injury, Felix Jones suffered a separated shoulder and Dez Bryant is rehabbing a quad injury.
While Romo has a good matchup against the Redskins at home, it will be hard to play through all these injuries and grab a win, let alone put up big fantasy numbers. Our early quarterback rankings have Romo outside the top ten quarterbacks.
Jamaal Charles Placed On IR
The Chiefs have officially placed Jamaal Charles on injured reserve after he tore his ACL against the Lions on Sunday.
Fantasy Outlook: Look to Dexter McCluster as the top option to go after on the waiver wire this week, and Thomas Jones should be second on your list, in his back field. Jones has looked his age this year, and with the Chiefs likely playing from behind, most weeks, they will need a versatile pass catching option in the backfield.

Dez Bryant Not Probably Out
SI’s Peter King expects Dez Bryant to sit this week against the 49ers with a quad injury.
Fantasy Outlook: This is an afternoon game so it’s advisable to make sure you have Dez Bryant out of your lineup this week. This is unfortunate for Bryant as the 49ers have a tasty matchup against a weak secondary.
Late in the week even Cowboys owner Jerry Jones had to admit that Bryant wasn’t a sure thing to play and it would be wise for them to rest his quad injury and get him ready for the home opener.

Delmas Not likely To Play
It appears Louis Delmas is expected to be out for the Lions this week, which will hurt an already below average secondary in Detroit.
Fantasy Outlook: The Chiefs passing game needs all the help they can get today as Matt Cassel had a hard time throwing for over 100 yards passing in a blow out against the Bills, last week. Unless you have strong depth on your roster, it is advisable that you stick with Dwayne Bowe in your lineup, as he will get opportunities against the Lions. Look for Kansas City to be throwing most of the game, and I expect this team to lose but put up better offensive numbers.
