Week 1 – IDP – LB Rankings
CLICK HERE FOR CURRENT WEEKLY FANTASY ADVICE
Another year of IDP fantasy football is getting started and star Patrick Willis is ready to dominate as he gets to face one of his favorite teams in the Seahawks. Look to Seattle quarterback situation as that helpless wounded fish in the water that can get away from a great white shark who’s circling its prey.
Willis will dominate in this one and should find his way to a sack as the 49ers should have success at home, as Seattle has trouble on the road.
Hawthorne Ready For Big Season
After a huge second half of the 2009 season, David Hawthorne finally has the middle back in the Seahawks defense and he should have a solid first week against the 49ers. While Aaron Curry is likely to stay on the field against tight ends on third downs, Hawthorne is the top dog in his defense, and will likely rack-up a high tackle number this year.
Beason Hopes To Play Opener
I still have Jon Beason on the list for week one but he’s likely to miss his contest against the Cardinals with a bump Achilles injury. If so, James Anderson should have better production over on the strong-side and would be a must start LB-3 this week.
Rolando Ready For Breakout?
Watching a few Raiders preseason games this past month, and middle linebacker Rolando McClain sure looks like a player ready to breakout. The rookie from 2010, had a respectable second half last year as it took him some time to figure things out. With a year under his belt we could see McClain start his breakout campaign as early as this week.
James Harrison Still Recovering from Back Surgery
It’s time to be concerned about James Harrison who is still recovering from a back injury. Harrison will be back on the field but I like LaMarr Woodley as the better linebacker to go with, off the edge on the Steelers, early in the season. If you have Harrison, you might want to consider benching him in the early part of the season.
Please Note - Our rankings are now updated as of September 9th, and because the Packers and Saints have already played, we don’t have players from those teams listed. For injury updates, head over to the Fantasy Philosophers Podcast as Sean and Matt breakdown notable players.
