Week 1 – QB Rankings
The Steelers looked primed to throw the football and with a deep receiving core, I like Ben Roethlisberger against a shaky Ravens secondary that will likely start rookie corner back Jimmy Smith. Keep an eye on speedster Antonio Brown as Roethlisberger hooked up with the youngster for a couple long touchdown passes in the teams third preseason game against the Falcons.
Romo Vs. Jets
While the Jets defense is always a tough matchup for any corner back, Dez Bryant should run circles around Antonio Cromartie, and Darrelle Revis is battling a hip flexor injury. ESPN Dallas writer Tim MacMahon points out in a recent article that in order for the Cowboys to be good, they need Felix Jones and Bryant to play great.
I would agree, and look for both to play key roles if Dallas is going to have any shot of winning this game in New York. Unless you have a quality backup like Matt Ryan or Matthew Stafford, I suggest you stick to your guns with Romo, as the veteran has had some great open games in the past.
Will the Falcons Go Pass Crazy
Maybe the hype on Matt Ryan has gotten a little out of hand as the team still has Michael Turner and Jason Snelling in the backfield. That said, Ryan should have opportunities against the Bears, but he will likely have better days in the future. Keep an eye on the weather in Chicago, as this past weekend had a lot of bad weather in the Northern area of the country.
Please Note – Our rankings are now updated as of September 9th, and because the Packers and Saints have already played, we don’t have players from those teams listed. For injury updates, head over to the Fantasy Philosophers Podcast as Sean and Matt breakdown notable players.
