Week 2 – IDP – LB Rankings
One star down in Jon Beason and another one is coming up in Desmond Bishop of the Packers. Theirs a reason why Green Bay felt comfortable letting go of Nick Barnett this off-season, and that is because they know Bishop is ready to continue his rampage on opposing offenses, like we saw last year and especially in the playoffs. Look to Bishop as a top five linebacker going forward, and he should continue to post strong numbers most weeks.
Barrett Ruud vs Ravens: Another team that loves to pound the football, and they will test the Titans middle with Barrett Ruud standing in Stephen Tulloch’s old position. Ruud may not be a complete linebacker, but he’s good enough to stay on the field and rack up a bunch of tackles. This should be a big year for Ruud as the Titans defense will rely on him to make plays. While his style of play will likely make this team worse against the run, he should still be a solid IDP option.
Paul Posluszny vs. Jets: Time to be concerned about POZ after a bad week one? In reality, you should have been a little concerned, as soon as he left Buffalo for Jacksonville, which is why I had him tailed back as a LB-2 in our summer rankings. The Jaguars killed the Titans in time of possession last week, which did the Jaguars IDP option no favors.
Then when the Titans actually did something it was towards the end of the game, and they had to pass, which get Nelson and Landry better numbers at the safety positions. The Jets will run more, and the Jaguars should be on the field longer this week, so keep POZ in your lineup, and he should have a respectable game.
