Week 3 – IDP – LB Rankings

D’Qwell Jackson vs Dolphins -

Those that listened to me in the summer, hopefully were wise enough to take a shot on D’Qwell Jackson in the later rounds of their draft. Going as late as an LB-4, Jackson was one of the best IDP linebackers before injuries cost him most of the last two years.

While health problems hurt Jackson’s stock, it was the early rumors of him moving over to a weak-side linebacker and the team switching to a 4-3 scheme that had people turning away. It didn’t take the coaches long to figure out that Jackson was prime for the middle, and his play has been stellar for IDP leagues. Jackson should be viewed as a legit LB-1 as long as he’s on the field this year.

Sean Lee vs Redskins -

If you weren’t solid on Sean Lee after his performance against the Jets, you should believe in this break out star after another solid day against the 49ers. On one play Lee tracked Vernon Davis from behind and made a sweet open field tackle, and he should be making more big play stopping tackles in the future.

This week I’ve put Lee up to the No.6 Linebacker to start and I’m confident he will perform as an LB-1 throughout the season, as the Cowboys have clearly let him take over as a full-time starter on the inside.

James Laurinaitis vs Ravens -

While James Laurinaitis hasn’t had a big game yet he’s put together solid numbers thus far, and it appears, he ready to be a force most weeks. Last year Laurinaitis had a good year for IDP, but it was a bit of a slump from his rookie year, as he seemed to struggle with inconstant tackles. Laurinaitis should be a weekly starter and an LB-1 that could turn into a top five stud at some point.
