Darren McFadden vs Patriots –
If you thought, Darren McFadden would struggle after a breakout year, think again, as the Raiders new super star has to be considered one of the true elite fantasy players around. McFadden looks even better than last year, and his 70-yard touchdown against the Jets was an impressive display of vision, foot work, and speed as he blew by the Jets secondary. While many had the Patriots defense tabbed as a top five option for fantasy leagues, they’ve struggled to stop opposing offenses and coming into Oakland is likely to be another long game. While Adrian Peterson is listed as our top running back for week four, it’s only because he’s playing one of the worst defenses in football, but McFadden might be the most dangerous running back around.
Ryan Mathews vs Dolphins –
While Mike Tolbert was the tail back in San Diego with three touchdown week one, it’s Ryan Mathews that’s pulled away as the top option in the Chargers back field going forward. Mathews had a breakout game against the Chiefs, and I don’t expect him to look back as he cracks our top ten running backs this week.
Frank Gore @ Eagles –
Keep an eye on Frank Gore’s status this week as he suffered an ankle injury against the Bengals. Rookie Kendall Hunter is one of the top pickups at running back this week, as he scored the 49ers go-ahead touchdown to win and would be the starter if Gore should miss time. While the Eagles will be favored to win, the defense has had problems against the run and with Michael Vick likely out, San Francisco may stick around in this contest longer than many would think.
Please Note - Ryan Grant and Daniel Thomas are both listed as out this week. Look to James Starks and Reggie Bush as starters on these teams. Arian Foster is expect to get a full compliment of carries so Tate should be on the bench.
