Week 6 IDP – Waiver Wire Pickups
With so many varying leagues of starting depth and roster space for IDP players, it can be a challenge to give you sound advice for our IDP waiver wire pickups. I will have some deeper waiver wire options, but I also have listed some players I’ve talked about in the past, and they may be available in your league at this time.
That is why I have a section below all three standard IDP positions called Get’em first if available. This basically means, you should be targeting these options before the names I discuss on the article.
Jeremy Mincey –
With an opportunity to play consistent snaps Jeremy Mincey played well against the Bengals. This week should be a challenge for the Jaguars pass rush if the Steelers play like they did against the Titans. Still, even if Mincey is on your bench this week, he’s an upside youngster that could produce weekly starting numbers in the future, so at least keep an eye on his progress.
Dave Tollefson –
Justin Tuck is likely to be out at least until after the Giants bye week so look to Dave Tollefson as a one week fill-in for your squad. JPP and Osi will be the top ends for playing time but Tollefon can have success in the Giants rotation, and if Tuck should continue to have setbacks, he might be a matchup play down the road.
Get’em first if available – Greg Hardy, J.J. Watt, Brian Robison, Richard Seymour, Michael Johnson, Cliff Avril
James Farrior –
Just when you thought the Steelers were ready to throw in the towel after some terrible play on defense, this veteran group put together a great game against the Titans last week. With James Harrison out for a little while, James Farrior will likely remain as a starter on the inside as Lawrence Timmons continues to play in Harrison’s old spot.
Get’em first if available – Jamar Chaney, Von Miller, Mason Foster, Daryl Washington, E.J. Henderson
Jarrad Page –
If you happen to stumble across Jarrad Page on your waiver wire, he’s a must add at this point. The Eagles have always been a good team for defensive backs in IDP leagues and since Page has taken a starting job, he’s playing like a DB-2 and would be a nice pickup to target. As long as Page can hold onto a starting job, he needs to be in your lineup weekly.
Get’em first if available – Jairus Byrd, Kam Chancellor, Eric Smith, Reggie Nelson, Justin King, Patrick Peterson
