Week 7 – Injury / Player Ranking Updates (Podcast)

While Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones publicly says the plan for the running game will be to work Tashard Choice and rookie DeMarco Murray together, expect Murray to see the larger workload. In recent week (actually since training camp) the Cowboys were open about looking to trade Choice, so it’s hard to envision him leading the team in carries, especially after fumbling last week.

Watching the video of last weeks’ game, Murray looked like the better running back, and if he can develop consistency over the next few weeks in his decision making, I wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up being the top tail back in Dallas, by years end. With Felix Jones likely out the next two to four weeks with a high ankle sprain Murray should get the starting job in key matchups against the Rams and Eagles.

Murray’s receiving skills (71 receptions last year for the Sooners) will give him added value in PPR leagues and could set him up to be a three down back. Put it all together and this young talent has a chance to be a factor for many fantasy owners this year, and his opportunity couldn’t come at a better time for those of you in need of help through the bye weeks.
