Week 10 IDP – Waiver Wire Pickups
DL – Robert Quinn –
It’s taken Robert Quinn some time to get going in his rookie season, but perhaps we should have seen that coming after, he missed all of his final year in college due to a suspension. With the Rams playing better in recent weeks, Quinn has played like a respectable DL-3 post sacks in each of his past two games.
The Rams basically run the same defense that the Giants run as their head coach used to be New York’s defensive coordinator, so opportunities should be available for Quinn to make an impact, even if he doesn’t start. Expect the rookie to have a solid second half, as he’s playing well, and the Rams have a schedule to take advantage of in the second half.
DL – Carlos Dunlap –
The much talked about Bengals’ defensive end Carlos Dunlap is starting to break his way into a regular DL-3 starter. The Bengals may not give him enough snaps on the field to be a DL-1 this year, but Dunlap has the ability to performance at that level in any week.
While Dunlap will be prone to boom vs. bust performances, he’s worth starting at this time, as the Bengals continue to play well and Dunlap is hot.
LB – Kevin Burnett –
Both Dolphins inside linebackers started slow this year but Kevin Burnett and Karlos Dansby have it going in recent weeks. A few weeks ago I talked about Dansby as a waiver wire pickup, and he’s still a solid addition, but Burnett might be a better ad for big-play leagues.
DB – Chris Hope –
It looks like Titans strong-safety Chris Hope is ready to return to action as he’s fully participating in practice this week. Look for Hope to take back his starting job over Jordan Babineaux, and that should make him an instant DB-3 play.
