Julio Jones, Roddy White vs Saints -

It’s time to wonder if Julio Jones may end up being the better fantasy receiver in Atlanta after another average performance from Roddy White. Sure, White will likely continue to lead the team in targets but what does that really mean when he continues to fail at making plays down the field?

For whatever the reason, it seems that White has had problems performing at the level we’ve come to expect in recent years, and after Jones’s huge performance against the Colts, I’m willing to believe he’s the big-play maker in this offense, going forward.

White will continue to draw opposing squads top corners and even double teams, while Jones will likely get consistent one on one opportunities against second rate talent. As it stands this week, I have Jones as a top five receiver heading into the teams all important matchup against the Saints, while White is 21st on the list. Both should be considered solid plays this week, but don’t be surprised if it is Jones that has the better stat-line once again.

Torrey Smith @ Seahawks -

The Ravens talented rookie receiver had his struggles against the Steelers last week but in the end, he came up big with a last minute touchdown to win the game. While Smith will likely be an inconsistent big-lay performer this year, I like his chances to at least post the numbers he had last week against a suspect Seahawks secondary.

Normally solid against the run, the Seahawks struggled to contain DeMarco Murray last week, but if they return to their normal effective play against Ray Rice, it will force the Ravens to put the football in Joe Flacco’s hands to win, once again. If that happens, Smith could end up with an even better day, as Seattle tends to have problems against the vertical passing game.

Vincent Jackson vs Raiders –

Well, Jackson finally came back to life after a very slow stretch while battling a hamstring injury over the past month. Hopefully, Jackson was in your lineup last week, and it’s likely that he was because many fantasy owners were hoping for a high-scoring game with the Packers in town. Despite rare bad weather in San Diego, Jackson managed to post over 100 yards receiving and three touchdowns as the Chargers played from behind most of the game.

Clearly playing well once again, Jackson has another solid matchup against a struggling Raiders defense on Thursday night football. Look for the Chargers to get back on track and their star receiver should be good for at least 80 yards and a score in this one.
