Dwayne Bowe @ Patriots -

After a solid start to the season, Dwayne Bowe hasn’t been the same player since the Chiefs returned from their bye week and now his starting quarterback is likely done for the year. While many will be concerned about Bowe chances of success, sometimes playing with a young quarterback like Tyler Palko can help them stay respectable, even in a bad situation.

While we didn’t see Palko connect with Bowe late last week, young quarterbacks tend to lock onto the No.1 receiver and target them often, weekly. Maybe Palko will only throw for 150 yards some weeks, but I wouldn’t be surprised if a decent portion of that production goes to Bowe.

That said, while I do recommend you start Bowe this week, he should be viewed as a WR-3 play going forward, at least until we see the Palko to Bowe connection for a few weeks. Look for the Chiefs to fall behind early against the Patriots, thus allowing Palko to throw against prevent defense in the second half, and at that time Bowe should rackup some respectable numbers.

If he should struggle for a second week against the Patriots suspect secondary, and Palko should favor another player like Steve Breaston, then we may have to consider him a bench player going forward.

DeSean Jackson @ Giants –

If you’re frustrated to the point of wanting to cut DeSean Jackson off your team, I wouldn’t blame you. No, I don’t have him on my seven squad, but anyone can see that Jackson has been a major disappointment, and his unexpected benching against the Cardinals had to come as a surprise to all.

Then again, it’s way over do that we should label Jackson as one of the problem child receivers in the league, as he continues to show his frustrations over wanting a new contract. Maybe someone should pull him aside (Peyton Hillis as well) and tell him that his actions, are only lowering his market value around the league.

Heck, even when you do land that big contract you still have to play well and not be a major distraction to the team. While Chris Johnson acted up like Jackson this year, he failed to run hard, until rumors of the Titans releasing him this off-season, seemed to fire him up to played better on the football field, in recent weeks.

Explosive talents like Jackson can give you the game breaking numbers that help you win games and lead you to a fantasy championship, but on the filpside their antics can also kill your team. As long as Jackson suits up this week, I would give him one more chance against a suspect Giant secondary, but if he fails to produce, bench him.
