Jermaine Gresham @ Steelers -
Maybe it’s easy to look past Jermaine Gresham in fantasy leagues with tight ends like Rob Gronkowski and Jimmy Graham having monster seasons, but this fellow second year tight end is starting to put together a decent year. After missing a couple of games due to injury, Gresham has come back to have no less than three receptions, and if not for a questionable (at least in my eye’s) in-completion for a touchdown a few weeks ago, he would have a score in each game.
Last week Gresham made a few nice plays, one being when the Bengals lined him up as a receiver, in man to man coverage, as linebacker Scott Fujita lined up against him. Gresham came across the middle, and Fujita was no match to cover him for a fifteen yard hookup. That play is an example of the talent Gresham has but his best play of the game was his 22-yard touchdown score on a back shoulder fade against rookie corner Eric Hagg, down the sidelines.
Coming of age, Gresham is a worthy play if you’re in need of some help at tight end going forward. Yes, the Bengals will be playing the Steelers this week but Gresham had some success against them week ten with four receptions and a score. With Troy Polamalu possibly out because of a concussion he suffered last week, Gresham could be good for over 50 yards and a score in his pivotal division matchup.
Jermichael Finley @ Giants –
This has been a frustrating year for Jermichael Finley owners, as Aaron Rodgers is on pace to break records at the quarterback position, and his top tight end, isn’t the play we expected on draft day. Still, Finley is a decent low end starter this week, as the Packers head out to New York to take on the Giants, in what should be a high-scoring game.
Both teams are better suited to throw the football, and Finley should have some opportunities inside the red zone to find a touchdown. Give him a shot to start this week, in what should be a fun game to watch, unlike the disappointing Thanksgiving game, where the Lions decided not to show up.
