Week 9 IDP – DL Rankings
Justin Tuck @ Patriots –
For all the success Justin Tuck had a year ago, the big man has had a hard time playing at full speed with lingering injury problems this year. Tuck finally returned to action last week but failed to get much done as he only totaled one tackle but did pick up half a sack.
The Giants head out to New England to face an opponent they know very well, as Tom Brady was harassed by Tuck and fellow linemen in the 2008 Super Bowl. Pressure on Brady was the key to winning that game, and I’m sure the Giants will look to do it again.
While Tuck could have a strong game, it’s likely that he’s just a DL-3 play at best until we can actually see him look like the defender we’ve come to know in the past. With the emergence of Jason Pierre-Paul, the Giants now have another dominant edge rusher to use in a rotation.
In the past, the coaching staff has left Tuck alone on his side of the football so let’s see if they start doing that this week, or if they limit his snap count
(played 38 snaps last week) to keep him fresh.
