Week 14 IDP – DL Rankings

Justin Tuck @ Cowboys - 

The former DL-1 stud put up another five tackle performance against the Packers last week, and he finally found his way to the quarterback for the first time in over a month. No, I wouldn’t go as far as to say that Tuck had the kind of performance that would make me believe he’s a DL-1 play going forward, but he’s worthy of using in your lineup.

What I can say is that Tuck probably looked as good on video as he has in awhile and that could suggest he’s ready to have a breakout game soon. This week the Giants will be in an all-important division game against the Cowboys, and Tuck is worthy of a DL-2 ranking, as he should have opportunities against an offensive line that made the Cardinals pass rush look elite at times last week.

Charles Johnson vs. Falcons –

This has been a disappointing season for Charles Johnson owners, but he didn’t look that bad against the Buccaneers last week. On one play Johnson did a good job beating a Tampa Bay tackle to the end and shutting down a running play in the backfield, as the Buccaneers were in a run heavy formation.

Johnson has also posted at least half a sack in the past two games giving him eight and a half sacks on the season. While Johnson will likely struggle to post over three tackles a game, as the Panthers defense isn’t on the field like it was a year ago, he’s worth a look as a DL-2 play this week, as he posted one of his better performances of the year, against the Falcons the first time they played.
