Ben Roethlisberger @ 49ers -

If you were to ask me if Ben Roethlisberger should be trusted against the 49ers before Sunday, I would have answered told you to look for other options. That still may be a good idea, as Big Ben’s ankle is clearly hurting and unlike his acting performance against the Titans, Roethlisberger was in pain as he led his team to victory against the Browns.

What changes my mind about Roethlisberger as an option this week, has to do with the performance John Skelton had against this secondary last week. While it hasn’t been much of a problem since their week two loss to Dallas, the 49ers have been susceptible to giving up big plays in the passing game, throughout recent years.

With big-play receivers like Antonio Brown and Mike Wallace on the field, if Roethlisberger should get time to throw, he should find opportunities to convert down the field. If Roethlisberger has been your starter throughout the season, then you should stick with him this week, as it appears the 49ers are starting to show some cracks in their armor.

Joe Flacco @ Chargers -

This should be a sneaky play for those of you that are looking for a possible shootout for help at quarterback, as the Ravens will head out to San Diego. After another horrible losing steak for the Chargers, they are now showing life and explosion on offense, which should lead to some problems for the Ravens defense.

In recent weeks Flacco has had defense to exploit, but the problem for his overall numbers was that the Browns and Colts have bad offenses, so Baltimore could play a conservative brand of offense. With San Diego still clinging to hopes of playoff life, they will likely come out gunning in this game, and Flacco should be good for over 300 yards passing and two or three scores.
