Shonn Greene @ Eagles -

If you happened to read my pre-season writeup for Shonn Greene, you probably know I wasn’t a big believer in the young tailbacks’ odds to deliver on his coaches promises (two years running) on being the teams “bell cow” in the offense. For those fantasy owners that bought into the idea that Greene would perform this way, you’re likely disappointed as Greene has looked soft, well, until recently anyway.

Two weeks ago we saw Greene score three times against the Redskins as he put the game out of reach with his final 25-yard sprint to the end zone. While it was nice to see Greene finally look like a RB-2, no one could blame you if you had your doubts about him delivering the following week against the Chiefs.

Right off the bat Greene burst through the A-gap for a 31-yard run, and he never looked back, consistently barreling over defenders like when he ran straight through free safety Kendrick Lewis on his way to a 7-yard touchdown.

Not only did Greene get it done of the ground with his second consecutive game over 20 carries for 129 yards, but he added three receptions for 58 in the passing game. Greene’s highlight play of the game could’ve been his 36-yard reception on a dump off, as he used his blockers well, going down the sidelines and finishing his run just missing a touchdown.

It’s these performances that actually have me excited about a player I’ve recommended fantasy owners leave for dead over a year ago. Finally, Greene looks to be putting things together and with a matchup against the Eagles defense, you better believe I’m serious about ranking him as the No.2 running back to start this week. If you happened to make the playoffs and Greene is still on your squad, get him in the lineup as a legit (finally) RB-1 option.
