Green Bay Packers 2012 Schedule

What looked like a possible run for a second title in two years quickly went the wrong way as the Packers lost in their first playoff game to the Giants. While Aaron Rodgers had one of the best years in NFL history, the lack of quality defense and an inept rushing attack was exposed.
Still, this truly had to have been a fun encore season for Packer fans fresh of a Championship the year before, and as long as Rodgers is on the field; they will be in the running for Super Bowl trophies in the future.
Finding A Rushing Attack
With Ryan Grant likely moving on to another team, I look to the current roster and have to believe that Alex Green could have a breakout year, if the Packers fail to draft anyone significant this week. Veteran James Starks will be in the mix, and we can’t forget about John Kuhn around the goaline, but clearly, this team needs some explosion on the ground, and finding big plays in the running game shouldn’t be a problem with Rodgers around.
Like the Saints, this team doesn’t need to have a ground attack to create balance in the offense, but when it’s time to run the clock out, or those few times in a season when the passing game is struggling to move the football, it’s important to fall back on the running game to get things going.
As for the defense, it would be wise to pickup another safety in the draft and GM Ted Thompson admitted recently that the team is still waiting to find out the progress report on Nick Collins neck. The loss of Collins seemed to hurt this secondary more than I thought it would be a year ago, and getting him back would be a big boost to the defense.
