2012 Tight End ADP Trends

Jermichael Finley FFC 70, CBS 71
Let’s give Jermichael Finley a pass for his inconsistency last year. Quality veterans like Miles Austin and Justin Tuck attributed their nagging injuries to poor conditioning, and that is understandable when they didn’t have their team trainers around to help them.
Factor in Finley was coming off a knee injury that cost him most of the 2010 season, and not only did he likely have problems with his rehab, but he failed to get back on the field and get valuable reps. While Aaron Rodgers made light of OTAs at the start of last year, it was players like Finley that were hurt most by this down time.
Maybe Finley won’t be a top five producing tight end, but I expect him to have better numbers and play with consistency. It is the second year removed from a knee injury that tends to be when your fully healed.
Just look at Wes Welker as an example. Two years ago, he came back from a nasty late-season knee injury and his numbers were down. Then two years removed from his injury, Welker had his fastest start to his career, and one of his better years as a pro.
