Top 200 – 2012 Fantasy Football Cheat Sheet

Despite Rashard Mendenhall’s torn ACL injury, the Steelers were effective on the ground. This success was in large part because of the production of Isaac Redman who posted 92 yards against the Browns in the regular-season finale, and then 121 yards against the Broncos in the playoffs.

With upgrades on the offensive line via the draft, and Pittsburgh bringing in only receiving specialist Chris Rainey in this offseason, Redman is the favorite to start.

Keep an eye on fellow backups like Jonathan Dwyer and Baron Batch, but both have their draw backs (Dwyer’s fitness, Batch returning from injury), and it should be considered unlikely that they will pose a threat in allowing the games scripts to call for Redman to touch the football over 15 times a week.

Coming into your draft, Redman will make for a fine RB3 for the first half of the year but only time will tell if Mendenhall returns to action after an expected placement on the PUP list. If and when Mendenhall should return, this will likely be a RBBC situation, unless Redman is playing at a Pro Bowl level.
