Wide Receivers – 2012 Projected Stats

With Hakeem Nicks battling a foot ailment that could cost him time into the regular season; it’s time to give serious consideration to rookie Rueben Randle as a redraft selection in ten to twelve team leagues. Randle was considered one of the better route runners of the 2012 class, and has already impressed his coaching staff in OTAs.

A player to monitor throughout the preseason, Randle could hold WR3 at some point this year, he was already tentatively slated to lineup on the outside (moving Victor Cruz to the slot) when the team used three and four receiver sets.

Because Nicks has a low leg injury, he will go without conditioning throughout the summer, and we need to be fearful of other injuries that could come about because of the body possibly compensating for the foot problem, when he returns to action.

In short, if Randle finds a starting job, his route running ability will come in handy as Eli Manning will help him with separation, as he does a good job of throwing receivers open. This could be a breakout rookie season for Randle, if he finds regular snaps.
