2012 ADP: PPR Wide Receivers Trends

With so much depth at the receiver position it’s time to run away from secure options like Larry Fitzgerald, Andre Johnson, Roddy White and so on, unless you’re absolutely sold they will have a terrific season. It’s nice to feel like you have a WR1 in the bag and take some of the names mentioned above in the second and third round, but your competition will be drafting key running backs and possibly tight ends like Rob Gronkowski and Jimmy Graham at that point.
Even with the depth at quarterback this year, you still have options like Matthew Stafford, Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers and Drew Brees that could go off for 5,000 yards and over 40 touchdowns.
Filling your receiving core with a deep list of second tier receivers rounds four through seven is a better way to go, as most of those options have upside to produce like top fifteen options at this position.
