2012 ADP Top 100 – PPR Trends
With training camps underway for all 32 teams, we can count on ADP trends to fluctuate at a rapid rate. While individuals are sure to fall or rise based on breaking daily news, we can still take a look at the overall tendencies by current ADP results.
When taking the time to break down the first 100 trending players (first ten rounds) off the board over at Fantasy Football Calculator, I can’t help but walk away surprised by a few numbers.
14 Quarterbacks Off The Board
With ten teams drafting, to see 14 quarterbacks come off the board is truly a testament to the depth at this position, and the importance to not just have one solid starter, but to ensure you have a respectable backup, to stay productive at this position.
Not only do we have a quality group of QB1 options, but there are about five respectable backups to target, and it appears you will have to invest two of your top ten picks, if you intend on walking away from your draft with two on your team.
41 Running Backs, 34 Wide Receivers
Again, because of depth at the receiver position and scarcity in quality running depth, it makes sense that 41 running backs are off the board and only 34 receivers in the first ten rounds.
When you see names like Denarius Moore and Pierre Garcon going as the final receivers off the board in the last five picks of this list, you know the depth at receiver is strong enough to be bullish on running backs in the early rounds.
Don’t be shy if you feel the urge (or the value happens to fall your way naturally) to make a play for three running backs in the first three rounds of your draft.
Personally, I’m making a list before the draft, by tiering those options I deem fit to be selected in the first three rounds. If they come up, I’m taking them before quarterbacks, receivers and tight ends until completion of the third round.
