Have some updates on a few key players as we get set for the first week of fantasy football.

Trent Richardson Full Week Of Practice

It appears the Browns rookie running back will be a go for the Eagles on Sunday. We should expect Richardson to work in some type of committee, but the bigger problem for his production is if the Browns are blown out by half time.

Look to Richardson as a solid flex play start, and he is likely to give you RB2 numbers this season.

Charles Tillman Hope To Rebound From Poor Preseason

The Bears Pro Bowl corner was horrible against the Giants week three of the preseason. This might not be a bad thing for Tillman in terms of IDP stock, as he’s unlikely to lose his job anytime soon and opposing teams will continue to throw the football his way.

Tillman will lose some but he will win more often than not. Consider Peanut a solid CB1 and still the top corner in Chicago.

Stevie Johnson’s Continued Groin Problems

Those of you that followed my work through the preseason know I’ve been down on Johnson because he continues to show lingering issues with a groin injury that plagued him last year, and required surgery in the spring.

Johnson took a hard fall in practice this week and re-injured his groin, so we should only look to him as more of a desperation WR3 start against Darrelle Revis this week. Expect him to be on the injury report all year.

Beanie Wells Injures Hamstring

Many times we see a player come back from one injury (knee in Wells case), only to push his workouts too hard and injure another part of his body. Perhaps this was the case for Wells as he suffered a hamstring injury in practice this week.

Wells maintains he will play but many players often do. Even if he does suit up, we should look to Ryan Williams to eventually take over as the starter in the Cardinals backfield. Don’t look to Wells as an option to start, playing against a stout Seahawks defense.

Marshawn Lynch Questionable With Back Issue

Lynch rebounded from a back injury last year and put together an impressive second half. What concerns me about Lynch this year isn’t so much his injury, but the emergence of rookie Robert Turbin behind him.

If you have the depth to do so, bench Lynch this week as the Seahawks are sure to lean on Turbin in a committee if Lynch plays.
