Trent Richardson had an uneventful debut against the Eagles week one so heading in our matchup against the Manglers I wasn’t expect him to act like an elite fantasy back, his talent suggest he will eventually be. Check that, as the Bengals continued there struggles from the Ravens game against Ray Rice and Richardson went off for a monster day.
Unlike opening week, our team came back with a better performance as Doug Martin found the end zone, Dwayne Bowe put up two scores and the Seahawks defense shut down the Cowboys. Unfortunately Matthew Stafford and Dez Bryant had tough matchups and didn’t do much to help add on.
The kick to the groin had to be an unexpected scratch of Antonio Gates as we watched his backup Dante Rosario go off for three touchdowns. Gates has a good record of playing when he practices and while he was limited on Friday, on Sunday morning he was reportedly running around and it appeared he would go.
That’s the way it goes sometimes but in the end his absence coupled with Stafford and Bryant’s lack of production cost of an opportunity for a win as we fell 120 to 101.
Have to give it up to Mangla in this matchup as in the early games it appeared he was going to run away with this contest as Richardson and Cam Newton were scoring left and right. As it stands only the Dynasty Sharks (nickname Die Nasty) is undefeated through two weeks, and only the 2011 Champions (or Chumpions as we like to say in this league) are yet to win a game.
We just happen to play the Chumps this week, but to there credit they went ahead and picked up Andre Brown off waivers and he stuck a 20 point day on the board against us on Thursday night. Way to go Carolina, help us lose last week now suck and hurt our odds this week!
Ahh September, my favorite month of the year!
