Jonathan Stewart Will Start Again

Sometimes when everything appears to be going the wrong way, it’s precisely the time to jump on board. The Panthers have failed to run the football with their high priced running backs and their long-time General Manager had to pay the price for the teams poor start by stepping down.

Last week Stewart outworked DeAngelo Williams in the lineup with 58 snaps on offense to Williams 5 snaps. While Stewart is expected to receive a feature back workload going forward, it is the shift to a power-run game that has me excited about his potential going forward.

While Stewart was resigned to his big contract this summer, it was speculated that Williams could be on the outs after this season. Expect that to be the case as the future is now for Stewart and to in my opinion, this change should have come a few years ago.

It’s not that Williams is a bad player, but more that Stewart is a better runner. I think what has hurt Stewart’s chances to take over was his Achilles problems early in his career and Williams going off for a monster season in Stewart’s rookie season. No to mention Carolina’s belief in using two running backs.

Even if Stewart doesn’t have a big week against the Bears, if he’s on the waiver wire, jump on him right now. His upside is RB1 value and the situation should be there for him to finally deliver on those odds.

Putting my money where my mouth is, I just traded away Michael Turner and Marques Colston for Jonathan Stewart in one of my dynasty leagues. I did this knowing Colston was going to be lost in the off-season anyway, but if Stewart hits I have a good running back potentially for the next 3 or 4 years.

Jordy Nelson Questionable

I expect Nelson to play but we need to keep an eye on his status in warmups tomorrow morning. It’s a terrific matchup for Nelson but he will probably have to do his damage in the first two or three quarters and the Packers could have this win secured by half time.

Jimmy Graham Should Play Against Broncos

A big game on Sunday night I expect Graham to play and unless you have a backup like Heath Miller who is really getting it done, roll the dice with Graham in your lineup.

Danny Amendola Questionable

No, Amendola isn’t likely to play against the Patriots the but fact that he’s questionable and flew with the team to England suggest he could be back after the teams week nine bye.

This is terrific news for those of you with Amendola, especially in PPR leagues and Sam Bradford needs him in the lineup.

Ryan Broyles Should Emerge In Lions Passing Game

I’m a big fan of what Broyles can bring to the Lions offense and I suggest you give him serious consideration off the waiver wire in at leagues PPR leagues.

Broyles looked good after Nate Burleson went down and should give this offense a spark as he settles in. Teams won’t give him respect, opting to focus on options like Calvin Johnson and Brandon Pettigrew in the game plan. This should be a good situation for production.

Marcus Lattimore Suffers Horrible Leg Injury

No Lattimore isn’t in the NFL yet and maybe never after a horrible injury this week. You can find the play on the internet but if you have a weak stomach for nasty injuries, don’t watch.

I’m a big fan of Lattimore and his skill set was that of a bell cow back of the future. Crossing my figures for him, but it’s more in hopes that he can live a healthy life without a lot of pain from the injury, more so than just getting back on a football field. Thinking of you Marcus, good luck on your recovery and keep your head up!
