Week 6 PPR – WR Rankings

Hopefully you had a chance to watch last Thursday nights game as the Cardinals faced off against the Rams. Larry Fitzgerald had eight catches in that game and sadly he could’ve had more. Arizona doesn’t seem to trust Kevin Kolb much with audibles because he clearly missed a one on one matchup against rookie corner Janoris Jenkins, and Fitzgerald schooled him for an easy touchdown.
Problem was, Kolb never looked Fitzgerald way, opting to go to the other side of the field, for reasons which I can only assume were based on him going to the spot the play call was designed to go.
Long gone are the days of Kurt Warner and while fantasy owners will miss out on some golden opportunities, I think we can say based on his production in the past three weeks, he’s still one of the better fantasy plays, especially in PPR leagues.
A.J. Green Against Joe Haden
The easy times for No.1 receivers against the Browns could be over as soon as this week as Joe Haden returns from his four-game suspension. Determined to make good on the rest of the season, Haden seems focused to give his team the kind of effort needed to make life much easier for the rest of the secondary.
Haden has the skill set to make life hard for most wide receivers, but this will be an interesting battle as Green faces off against him.
Expect Haden to shadow Green around the field as it will be important for the Browns odds to win, if he can shutdown one of the top receivers in the game.
At the end of the day, Haden should do a good job on Green or who ever he matches up against, but I like the second-year receivers odds of pulling off at least five receptions for 70 yards and a score.
Perhaps We Should Trust Bowe Without Matt Cassel
I was critical of playing Dwayne Bowe early in the week as we watched him struggle to find the end zone without Matt Cassel last season. While Brady Quinn doesn’t bring us much hope, it’s not like Cassel was playing good football to begin with and Quinn did look decent in short work, against the Ravens.
Bowe is one of the more targeted receivers in the NFL through five weeks and he should be because the other options around him have failed to get much done.
