Week 8 IDP – DL Rankings

The Eagles made a change at defensive coordinator during the bye week in hopes of turning things around. Who knows if it will do any good, but I can’t imagine both Trent Cole and Jason Babin will continue to perform at such a low level from where we grown accustomed to seeing them.
Atlanta comes to town and fortunate for the Eagles they have a history of giving Michael Turner problems. If his struggles continue, it will greatly help both ends odds of harassing Matt Ryan in the pocket.
I also have a feeling we will see less of a rotation on the front line, giving both ends a chance to get into the flow of a game. That’s just a guess, but after a big change in the coaching staff, it seems reasonable to believe, the Eagles will attempt to get back to what’s worked in the past to generate the pass rush their accustomed to seeing.
Sean’s Week 8 Watch List
- Brian Robison broke out big against the Cardinals last week but that should hardly be a surprise as Arizona supports two of the worst pass protecting tackles in football. Let’s see if he can keep it going against Josh Freeman as he tends to hold the football a little longer, waiting for those deep routes to develop.
- Muhammad Wilkerson is putting up enough tackles to be considered a safe start against the Dolphins this week as a DL2 play.
- Like most sack dependent ends, John Abraham has his ups and downs but he’s having another solid season. Atlanta is in every ball game and tend to allow the defense to play from a lead most of the time. Of course, this helps us feel a little better about Abraham’s odds of posting big plays weekly. He should have opportunities against Michael Vick this week.
- Derek Wolfe was hot heading into the Broncos bye week and will have plenty of chances to make some plays up the middle against Drew Brees. His play could be crucial to the Broncos odds off winning because the most effective way to pressure Brees is up the middle, where he can’t step up and make plays.
