Week 10 PPR – RB Rankings

The Bills coaching staff continues to have problems finding ways to give both Fred Jackson and C.J. Spiller the amount of touches they truly deserve. It’s times like this that show the difference in playing in a PPR league rather than a standard league.
No running back has more targets (24) or receptions (18) than Jackson or the past four weeks. Even Spiller is ranked eleventh among running backs in targets over the past four weeks with 16 and he’s totaled 15 receptions in that time for over 100 yards.
The kicker is that both running backs have amassed these numbers and done so in only three games of action because they were on a bye back in week eight.
Picking up those valuable receptions and yardage in the passing game goes a long way to holding RB2 value for both running backs and because of their continued activity, we should feel good about their odds of giving us top 20 value, most weeks.
Fumbles Won’t Be Tolerated In Kansas City
As if we needed another reason to be down on Jamaal Charles after a few poor performances and a neck injury last week. According to Randy Covitz of the Kansas City Star, Coach Romeo Crennel will bench players for turning the football over.
Can’t fault Crennel for wanting to install some discipline into his offense, but it’s probably a little too late in the season for it to be a big difference for a team with only one win.
Charles has had problems holding onto the football this year, so be prepared to see him on the bench for a time if he should cough it up at any point going forward. Because the Chiefs are out of the playoff hunt, it’s not like benching star players will cost them key games (not to mention the coaching staff and GM are probably already on the way out, after the season), so we could see a situation where Charles is pulled from playing.
Consider him an RB2 option going forward with RB1 potential.
