Week 13 – TE Rankings

Couple the recent play of Chad Henne with Coach Mike Mularkey’s willingness to put the football up, and Marcedes Lewis has new life and fantasy relevance. Against the Texans, Lewis grabbed two touchdowns and came back last week for four receptions and 56 yards last week.
Lewis won’t be a game breaking option but we should expect them to continue to with a pass heavy game plan going forward. Jacksonville is going to give Henne his chance to win a starting job and it’s time to take a look at what this team has in talented young receivers like Cecil Shorts and Justin Blackmon.
Where Lewis will be a factor is in the red zone and based on his ten touchdowns back in 2010, we know he can score with regularity. If your in need of help down the stretch, Lewis can give you respectable numbers going forward.
What Did We Learn From Week 12?
– Kyle Rudolph had another productive game, finding the end zone for the seventh time this season. Unfortunately Rudolph suffered a concussion and we will have to see if he can go against the Packers.
– I’ve just about run out of reason for why Antonio Gates continues to struggle. After a few productive games, Gates has failed to get much done in the past two weeks and I can’t say with any certainty he will pull out if his funk. You need targets to have an opportunity to be productive and six targets in the past two weeks won’t help him.
Sean’s Week 13 Watch List
– Vernon Davis failed to catch a pass against the Saints, and I’m sure fantasy owners are disappointed. It looked like Davis would turn his season around with Colin Kaepernick undercenter, and I believe that is exactly what is going to happen. Kaepernick gives Davis a quarterback who cane free him up for vertical routes down the field and we should expect him to come through this week.
– Expect Dustin Keller to remain as one of the top targets in the Jets passing game. While the Cardinals are a decent defense they’ve struggled against the run and pass of late. Keller should be good for five receptions 60 plus yards and possibly a score in this game as the Jets should win time of possession on their way to a victory.
