Week 13 – WR Rankings

A pair of Detroit receivers went over the century mark on Thanksgiving as Calvin Johnson turned in another dominant performance and rookie Ryan Broyles filled in nicely for Titus Young, who was serving a one-game suspension.
While Johnson is back to his old self over the past month, we shouldn’t discount Broyles odds of maintaining WR3 status down the stretch. The rookie will be a big part of what the Lions will do on offense in the future, but the question is, can Matthew Stafford play more like he did against the Texans or will he regress back to his poor play he’s shown us for most of the season?
If Stafford is ready to perform like the quarterback we saw from 2011, Broyles odds of finding the end zone will go up. If not, Broyles will need to rely on heavy yardage numbers and that the Lions will continue to throw the football close to 50 times a game. Thankfully, this offense has another secondary they can take advantage of as the face the Colts this week.
What Did We Learn From Week 12?
- Cecil Sorts continues to show us why he’s an every week starter in fantasy lineups with another touchdown from over 50-yards last week. The Jaguars are going to give Chad Henne a shot to show why he’s worthy of being the teams starting quarterback for next season, so expect Jacksonville to continue putting the football in the air, even if Maurice Jones-Drew comes back.
- Hakeem Nicks looked about as good as I’ve seen him all year against the Packers. Finally healthy, coupled with Eli Manning’s arm-strength returning makes Nicks a solid WR2 going forward.
Sean’s Week 13 Watch List
- Pierre Garcon finally looks healthy after a week one foot injury all ruined his season. Fresh of a big performance against the Cowboys, expect good things from Garcon going forward and with the way Robert Griffin is playing, we should like Garcon’s odds of holding WR3 status down the stretch.
- We may finally see Greg Jennings back on the field this week, and that likely means bad things for James Jones, who is fresh off a game where he wasn’t even targeted. Don’t expect Jennings to play a full amount of snaps but if your desperate for a play this week, it looks like you can start him if you’ve held onto him all year.
