WK 12 – WR Rankings

Fantasy owners with Andre Johnson were waiting for an explosive game from the veteran and they finally got it against the Jaguars. Johnson put the game away with a 48-yard touchdown to seal the game in over time helping him finish with 14 receptions for 273 yards and the big score.

With top corner back Jonathan Joseph questionable for this week, the Lions will have respectable odds of forcing the Texans into another high-scoring game on Thanksgiving. Look to Johnson as a must start WR1 going forward.

What Did We Learn From Week 11?

- While Antonio Gates, Ryan Mathews and Malcom Floyd and Philip Rivers have all been disappointments this year, Danario Alexander continues to impress over recent weeks. Gates, Mathews and Floyd are likely to continue to draw priority in the defenses game plan over Alexander which helps put Alexander in favorable situations. Until proven otherwise, Alexander is worth using as a WR2.

- Calvin Johnson continues to show us he can play through his knee injury at a high level. Even if Matthew Stafford happens to be knocked out do to injury, Johnson will be fine as Shaun Hill has proven he can get the job done in the past. Consider Johnson back as an elite WR1 option again.

- Maybe Coach Ken Whisenhunt thinks it’s better to have rookie quarterback Ryan Lindley starting over John Skelton, but fantasy owners shouldn’t be happy about it. Larry Fitzgerald and Andre Roberts were virtually nonexistent against the Falcons last week, and we should expect their production to suffer until Skelton or Kevin Kolb return to the lineup.

- Nick Foles had his starting debut last week but did nothing to help fantasy owners with DeSean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin. Jackson totaled two catches for five yards and Maclin was held without a catch. Both are candidates for your bench until we see more from Foles or Michael Vick returns.

Sean’s Week 12 Watch List

- Juilo Jones played last week, but he failed to make an impact for fantasy owners. Jones apparently left the game in the fourth quarter hobbled and didn’t return. It would be wise to keep him on your bench this week, even if the Falcons suit him up, unless he can partake in a full practice by Friday.

That hurts because Jones is playing against the Buccaneers league worst pass defense, but it’s likely the Falcons may hold him out if he continues to have problems.

- According to Ohm Youngmisuk, Hakeem Nicks seems to feel like he’s close to 100 percent back to heath but I will believe it when I see it. That said, Nicks is a worthy WR3 start this week in what should be a high-scoring game against the Packers.
