Fantasy Football Outlook: Only time will tell if Coach Chip Kelly’s offensive ideas will thrive in the NFL, but I believe the Eagles will have the upper hand early on. Kelly is a creative mind and it’s likely he will through some looks and a tempo of offense opposing defenses aren’t used to.
Look for Jackson and others to benefit from this through the first 8 to 12 weeks (teams will start to adjust to what the Eagles are doing) into the season. Jackson is a player who wears his emotions on his sleeve and because he’s used to playing in the PAC Conference (played at Cal) he understands what Kelly is looking to do with his offense and was excited from the beginning.
A happy, motivated Jackson is a good thing for the Eagles and fantasy owners. Look for the Eagles big play threat to have a bounce back season and at least hold WR3 value, even if we see a quarterback change or Michael Vick fall to injury.
Obviously Jackson is a better fit in standard and performance leagues than PPR leagues because he won’t haul in more than around 65 receptions in a season. Going in the 7th round of 12-team standard redraft ADP results, I think Jackson is a worthy role of the dice at that point.
