Fantasy Football Outlook: It was an interesting and exciting draft for the Bills as they selected quarterback E.J. Manuel in the first round and a host of pass catchers throughout the remainder of the draft and beyond.
While second-round pick Robert Woods should be starting in his rookie season, I’m not sure he will be anything more than a reserve player. Manuel is still a raw quarterback and Kevin Kolb leaves much to be desired as the potential starter to begin the year.
Stevie Johnson has his share of nagging injuries year round, but he always seems to suit up and play, likely leading the team in targets by a landslide once again.
Woods is worthy of selecting in the first round of dynasty rookie drafts, but like many young players he’s probably a year away from making an impact in redraft leagues. When Woods reaches his peak, I believe he will be the Bills top possession receiver while they look to have a more explosive down the field target to pair with him.
For now, look to Johnson as the one draftable receiver on this team, and then we will monitor Woods and others for waiver wire potential during the season.
