Fantasy Football Outlook: Much like we saw from the Bills in this spring, the Colts showed their commitment to Andrew Luck by drafting a host of skill position players via the draft last year. Of those selections is was T.Y. Hilton that made the biggest impact and he was a regular starter in many fantasy leagues during the second half of the season.
There should be some concern about Hilton holding a high yard per catch average with Bruce Arians gone to coach in Arizona. Since his time with the Steelers Arians is an aggressive play caller and likes his quarterbacks to work down field.
The new offensive coordinator Harold Goodwin figures to work in the short passing game more than the deep ball but Hilton should be active. Reggie Wayne will lead the team in receptions but the more immediate threat to Hilton’s targets could be the tight ends.
Goodwin comes over from Stanford where Coby Fleener played and Luck. They like to use tight ends, and I believe both Fleener and Dwayne Allen are set for bigger roles. As for Hilton, his ADP will need to come down from 31st overall before I select him over other veterans like DeSean Jackson, Stevie Johnson, Cecil Shorts or even Anquan Boldin (without Michael Crabtree around) before I pull the trigger on him.
Hilton is a respectable WR4 in 10 team leagues and a possible WR3 in 12 team leagues. He has the ability to be a starter, but could be lost at times in the new offense.
