Fantasy Football Outlook: Bennett finally received an opportunity to be the man in New York after his time in Dallas and had a successful season. His production led to a contract with the Bears and while he’s an upgrade over Kellen Davis for sure, I’m not sold Bennett will hold TE1 value.
Fantasy owners around the web appear to feel the same way as Bennett is going as the 15th tight end off the board in recent ADP results.
It’s not that Bennett isn’t capable, but more that the Bears need to show they can protect Jay Cutler and we know No.1 receiver Brandon Marshall and running back Matt Forte will be active in the passing game. With upgrades at left tackle and at guard via the draft, the Bears will have better talent on the front line, but we may see Bennett have a few stretches during the season will little production.
This is an interesting tight end though and the talent is there for him to emerge as a TE1 option, so consider him a TE2 with upside on draft day.
