Mark Sanchez’s time in New York is likely over, at least as a starter, as injury will pave the way for rookie Geno Smith to start. While Smith will make some plays he will also force some big mistakes and is likely to throw over 20 interceptions if he starts the entire season.

With below average weapons to work with Smith will likely have a rough first season in the NFL, and we need to have the Jets on our radar for fantasy defensive matchups weekly.

First up is the Buccaneers as former star Corner Darrelle Revis comes back to his old stomping grounds and if the rookie should throw the football his way, we could see Revis great his old team with a defensive score.

While Tampa Bay will likely lack a consistent pass rush throughout the season, they shouldn’t have trouble getting to Smith in the opening week. We should expect Tampa to play with a lead throughout most of the game and dominate time of possession.

If you selected a defense like the 49ers in your draft and are looking for another option because they play the Packers week one, look to the Buccaneers as a terrific matchup this week.
