After suffering a foot injury, it wasn’t clear if the Colts talented second year tight end Dwayne Allen would be ready to open the season. As of Monday, Allen was back in practice and should be a full go for the Colts matchup against the Raiders.

Allen can be a weekly TE1 option and he’s one of my favorite sleepers at the position. While

may get more attention nationally because he was a higher pick and Andrew Luck’s teammate at Stanford, it is Allen that is the better option to have in fantasy leagues.

Expect Allen to have an active role in the offense weekly, and while many will have him on their bench (or he may just be on your waiver wire) he’s a strong starting option against the worst team in football. Oakland is likely to give up at least 30 points in this matchup and we should look to Allen as a sneaky starting option week one.
